One area of the home which is relatively easy to keep looking great is hardwood flooring. Hardwood flooring is appearing more frequently in homes across the UK as people realise how beautiful this floor covering looks.
Cleaning a hardwood floor doesn’t take a lot of effort although it is really important to clean it regularly as any dirt or grit left on the floor surface can cause scratches which can be difficult to remove.
The best way to keep your floor clean is to make sure it is regularly vacuumed. If the floor is vacuumed the dirt and dust will be removed stopping those marks which can appear on the floor surface. When the debris is removed from the floor it can be dry-mopped using a specialist wooden floor cleaning solution.
It’s always better to use a cleaner specifically formulated for wooden floors as this will give the best level of finish. If you use a generic floor cleaner this can actually dull the floor surface and leave a residue behind.
A top tip to keep wooden floors looking great is to use felt pads and castor cups on the feet of furniture so that these items do not scratch the floor surface. Removing shoes when entering the home can also really help here.
