A cleaner from Weston has just won £1million on the Euro Millions lottery and says he won’t be giving up his day job.
Aaron Critchley is a beach cleaner and bought his winning ticket from the Tesco Express store in Oldmixon. He works for Fountains who currently hold the contract to clean the beach at Weston. Aaron says he has already gone back to his day job, which he loves, after he picked the cheque up from Lottery organisers.
Aaron says he’s just a normal guy and says he’ll most likely buy the house he currently rents and treat himself a new Audi. Aaron spoke in the local newspaper, The Mercury, he said:
“People can’t understand how I could stay so calm, but it’s not a lot of money these days.
“If it was 10 or 20 years ago, you would be set up for life, but it’s not like that now.
“It was an immediate decision for me to go back to work, I just want to keep everything normal.
“People say it couldn’t have happened to a better person.
“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth and my parents weren’t very well off, so I just want to save the money for when I might need it.”
