Indentations caused by furniture
Indentations in the carpet’s pile cause by furniture can be infuriating when you move the items in the room around. But you can get rid of most of these quite easily. You might read elsewhere that putting an ice cube on the indentation and leaving it overnight will work; we’ve tried this without much success. The best results are to be had by pulling the pile in the right direction with your fingers or a spoon handle. You can then dampen the area and using a hairdryer on a low setting, dry the indentation all the while pulling the pile into its original position.
With indentations prevention is always better than cure. If you move furniture around regularly the indentations will never get too bad. You don’t have to move the furniture far, just a couple of inches in either direction is usually enough.
